Son of The Revd. Christopher James Gurnhill B.A. and Mary Evelyn Gurnhill, of Farcet Vicarage, Huntingdonshire, England.  S/L. Gurnhill was killed when his aircraft ('8V11' - JS669) cut the tail off JS612 ('13V11') at between 800 - 1000 feet.  Both aircraft crashed near Clinton, Maine, U.S.A.  The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Casualty No. 2719877.  War Grave photo below.
